Conscious Pregnancy Yoga

I'm proud to have teamed up with Total Therapy Studios in Horsham to offer Conscious Pregnancy Yoga.
The journey of pregnancy and motherhood will inevitably challenge and transform you, even if it’s not your first time. The body changes, energy levels change, relationships change and soon life changes too.
Conscious Pregnancy Yoga is a tool that can support you to stay physically strong and flexible as you take care of yourself and your baby, it will also help to prepare you for the birthing process. Beyond the physical benefits of pregnancy yoga there are mental and emotional aspects that help with well-being through this transition and honour all the hormonal ups and downs that occur along the way.
You don’t need to have any knowledge of yoga or meditation to get the benefit of pregnancy yoga. Pregnancy yoga is an entirely different class to your average yoga class, it turns away from many of the postures that you might be familiar with and turns to postures that are adaptive to your new needs. Like birth your yoga practice will be a dance of effort and surrender that you may never have done before.
In a small group setting (no more than eight participants to a class) I’ll talk about the philosophy of Conscious Pregnancy Yoga. This will be followed by a meditation to calm and settle us and a yoga session (I will previously have sent out a questionnaire for you to fill in so I know where you are in your pregnancy and any limitations or concerns you might have). We’ll then stop for a short break and come back to learn some essential pelvic floor exercises, breathing techniques to help with relaxation and preparation for birthing and some time for questions before a final relaxation session.

Each workshop stands alone but you may choose to attend a few as your pregnancy progresses and your needs change. The fee is £45 a workshop and includes refreshments, notes for you to take away with details of the exercises we have done as well as meditation and breathing instruction so you are able to practice at home, equipped with the knowledge that what you're doing is safe and beneficial for you and your baby. This is also an opportunity to meet local, like-minded mothers.
